2016年11月11日から13日にアムステルダムで開催されたSteemitの最初のミートアップカンファレンスである第1回Steemfestの成功後、ソフトウェア開発者でイベント企画者のRoeland Landegent（@roelandp）は2017年5月30日に第2回のイベントをアナウンスした。[1]
Steemfest 2はポルトガルのリスボンで2017年11月1日から5日に開催される予定である。7月、Steemianの@gtgはイベントに来る参加者の旅に特別な条件を提供するようTAPポルトガル航空と合意したとアナウンスした。[2]

旅行のためのクラウドファンディングとコンテスト
初回のように、多くのSteemianが他のユーザがチケットやホテル代を支払うのを助けるためのコンテストやクラウドファンディングキャンペーン、プレゼントを行った。@ausbitbank、@richardcrill、@theprophet0、@scooter77、@aggroed、@josephなどの人々は、スポンサーの主なイニシアチブである。その他はSteemfest 2:Crowdfunding and Contests (jp)を参照。
講演者と参加者
2017年8月17日、Roeland Landegent（@roelandp）は講演者を発表した：Ned Scott (@ned USA) - SteemitのCEO；Alla (@allasyummyfood UK) - ユーチューバー、シェフ、Steemian；William Mougayar (@wmougayar USA) - The Business Blockchainの著者、投資家、ブロックチェーンスタートアップ；Charle Shrem (@charlieshrem USA) - Jaxx.ioのCTO；@sneak - Steemit, IncのCTO；Nolan Jacobson (@theprophet0 USA) - SteemSportsの総合マネージャー、DPoS証人；@hansikhouse, USA - 文化開発ストラテジスト、15のスタジオとサウンドボックスの共同設立者。プレゼンテーション、ワークショップ、パフォーマンスは掘り下げる時間が必要な場合を除いて最大20分間で行われる。イベントは前年のようにライブ配信される。[3]
Bitfilmコンテスト2017表彰式
2017年8月29日、Aaron Koenig（@aaronkoenig）は“暗号の未来”をテーマとしたフィルムコンテストであるBitfilmコンテスト2017の表彰式がSteemFest²で行われると発表した。ベルリンとリスボンでライブ上映審査が予定されており、フィルムは暗号技術、暗号通貨、及び他の暗号の未来的な課題に関するものの予定である。フィルムは10分以内でなければならない。[4]
