Online cryptocurrency exchanges are websites where you can buy, sell, or exchange cryptocurrencies for another digital currency or fiat money (USD, EUR, etc). Steem was officially launched in July 2016 being traded by Openledger and Bittrex. Openledger and Blocktrades offer wallets located in Bitshares blockchain, another cryptocurrency created by the same co-founder Dan Larimer. In May 2017 the chinese exchange BTCC opened a Twitter poll and STEEM went to the finals being in second place after Ethereum Classic.
